More Thoughts on Health Care Bill
Following is an excerpt on some stuff I posted at a message board. There is OBVIOUSLY a lot of differing viewpoints on what’s happening- here are mine:
I think as time passes and more people realize just how assfucked we are, you will see less and less people identifying with Democrat or Republican and it will become more of a system of the people who have no self-reliance or drive and want everything handed to them and do nothing for it VS. a group of people who still know there IS NOTHING FOR FREE and to have success in this life you need both the drive and self-interest to achieve it as well as an environment where people are allowed to pursue success without the government telling them all the way along what and how they can and cannot do it. As far as I am concerned, half can have the eastern half of the USA, the other half can take the western half of the USA (we can split at the Mississippi river). Then we’ll compare notes in 5 or 10 years and see what’s working out better.
Like I said, with the healthcare takeover, combined with the auto manufacturers and big banks/insurance companies the federal government now controls over 50% of the US economy. This is TERRIFYING.
And to anyone who thinks the government will somehow be able to run things better than private companies motivated by profits and free market economics, you need to have a window installed in your stomach so you can watch all your work and money stripped by 16,000 (not 6000) new armed IRS agents while you blither along through life with your head up your ass. Cash4Clunkers, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, how big a list do you need of the EPIC FUCKING FAILURES the government has tried to run?
Not to mention the fact that this bill is an abortion of the Constitution and states’ rights on at least 3 different accounts- the 5th, 9th and 10th Amendments. Or the fact that it flies COMPLETELY in the face of the very base principles upon which this country was founded. Or the fact that between 1 in 4 and 1 in 5 Americans supported the bill and I bet 99 of 100 of that 20-25 percent NEVER actually took the time to read a single fucking thing about what is actually in the bill.
The health care system is flawed TO BE SURE, but this is so far the wrong way to go about fixing it that the ONLY conclusion to be drawn is that the bill has NOTHING to do with fixing health care and EVERYTHING to do with an ever-increasing Federal government presence in each and every single aspect of our lives.

And 59 new government agencies to oversee it all. How lovely for us. NOT!

I am more excited about the 16,000 new IRS agents armed with shotguns myself. I guess all the new “oversight agencies” will need to hire people, so this MUST be the end of the so-called “jobless recovery”- they’ll just put everyone to work for the government…..
